Insight Into Giving

Martin Luther conveys this insight, "there are three conversions necessary: the conversion of the heart, mind and the purse." Believers have a tremendous opportunity to proclaim the gospel and give evidence of grace working within them as they give generously.

The Lord gives us the opportunity to proclaim to our neighbors and community His sufficiency and provision. Giving invigorates our devotion to Christ. Giving frees us from the tyranny of consumerism. Giving provides an outlet for compassion. Giving provides us an opportunity to teach our families that money is a servant rather than our master. Giving is worship. So, our prayer is that as people of faith we would live faithfully.

Giving to Mountain View

Mountain View Bible Church does not incorporate a traditional giving time during our Sunday service. Instead, we ask our regular attendees to place their tithes and offerings in a "giving basket" (located in the back as you come in and go out) sometime before or after the service. In this way, our guests will not feel obligated to put something in the basket as it is passed around (the traditional way). In addition, we do not want anyone to feel awkward during our meetings. We want all of our members and guests to feel comfortable and at ease. Mountain View does not expect it's guests to feel obligated to give.

If you'd like to give to MVBC place your tithe or offering in the Giving Basket located at the information table anytime during our Sunday service. Thank you for your commitment and support.
